we found this place at the arrival in cádiz. it is an authentic cádiz tapas bar. we were tired of the journey and asked for some house wine and tapas of the “house”. the personal does not speak much English, but if they know a few words of spanish and the effort to make the result is a very pleasant authentic meal with excellent wein and eat for a humble price at a place where they pass the world to observe. el terraza has an enviable position in the kathedrale plaza, as it gets the sunset. if other bars are more business, this is the place for an authentic tapas experience while sitting in front of the cathedrale. we are on our third visit in this bar.
beautiful location, but the portions are very small and salty especially the “ Calamares”. under the average
this cafe tears off the brittle. the price was doubled on our bill. do not go there unless they want to be preserved.
Unquestionably the WORST service imaginable, and the food was virtually inedible. The only reason they haven 't gone out of business is location... and, of course, visitors like us that didn 't know better. The Plaza de la Catedral was beautiful. However, the servers at Bar Terraza, were incredibly rude despite our attempts in espanol. I was served a plate of unseasoned, boiled potatoes dowsed in olive oil with canned tuna dropped on top. Yuck! We politely requested our tab, Me da la quenta, por favor? After delivering our check the waiter glared at my beau while he reached into his pocket for another Euro. He then waived his hand impatiently and bawked at us! We were appalled and speechless. There are other places nearby with amazing food and service. Don’t let an appalling establishment like this ruin the beauty of the cathedral and plaza. (Someone please tell me why the only good reviews are from “local guides?”
Yes. It's indeed rip off. They charge for small jamón toast 5.50
This was one of the worst meals we've ever had and the bad thing is it was recommended by our Airbnb host who was so nice to us. Food was terrible and prices very high. So disappointing for our first nite in Cadiz.
Great location but very expensive and worst food I’ve had so far in Spain.
