we finished our twilight evening albaicin tour through the tasting of the tapas in la espera. the owner is super nice and friendly. we were originally brought into another bar that had a more unfriendly owner. la espera is quite spacious; like most traditional Spanish bars are the tables and stools are not big. la espera has a capacity of some people perhaps in the first floor. there is also a full cash. as usual when ordering drinks during tapas hours, tapas are all free (a tapa per drink). we tried a sort of, among them sworn boar with chips, escargot (snail) suppe with spicy and brot. the suppe is nothing to write home, and the gay is also decent. eating here is okay, but don't define the best tapas I had here. I would try a tapas bar instead.

we went to this restaurant for a drink and were thrilled by the service and the refreshing presentation of the personal. we were only really there for a drink, but had a great time with the waiter in broken English. he did it very much. for us and we felt very welcome. the “house” wine (red) was very beautiful and it was easily consumed! we sat at the door of the house on a chair and watched the course of activity that went around us. we lived this place.

Stopped in on our walk back from the Alhambra for a bite to eat. The menu of the day is very well priced and had excellent selections. The croquetones and tortilla were excellent. Fresh cut ham and melon, chorizo in wine sauce. Sangria. All delicious!...And the service was excellent, with our waiter smiling and having a great sense of humor. Would definitely go back.

We had a variety of food including gluten free options for my wife. Good food but outstanding helpful friendly service.

We stopped by this restaurant tight after we walked down from Alhambra to reach the Plaza Nuevo City Center. We got a small window table. Spanish menu only but the friendly waiter was helpful could communicate in English. We started with an “Alhambra” draft...beer and house red. Both very good. The off-menu potato meat soup he recommended was tasty. However his hot healthy vegetarian dish turned out to be deep-fried(cucumber/squash?)sticks stacked criss-crossed in a pile with one pointing up, topped with a little flower. This dish made a dramatic appearance to my table catching the attention of all around. It was smothered all over with sweet honey. Lost in translation! It’s good place that provided free wifi, and temporary shelter from the miserable pouring rain freezing temperature outside.

The stand-out point of this taberna was the helpful and friendly host'. He advised us against ordering too more food after we had ordered honey brinjals and huelva rotos (broken eggs) to share. He was right! (Both were delicious and beautifully presented The serves were...huge, and, two small eaters, we couldn't even finish what we had ordered! Then, on top of that, he gave us each a tiny complimentary dessert. The interior is pleasant and comfortable and the location in Plaza Nueva is convenient. With drinks, our bill came to about I find it hard to rate the value objectively. It was not actually good value for eggs and brinjals, but we were happy; it was a lovely experience.
