This is THE restaurant to discover around Rosas! You will be welcomed there by Poncho , the owner 's dog, in a very pretty setting, all in red stones and lush vegetation. So yes, it 's more of a gastro, so necessarily the budget is a little higher, but we are far from the restaurants by the sea (even if some are very good) and the quality of the cuisine is really there EXCEPTIONAL. I have certainly not scoured all the tables in France and Spain but La Casa Carmeta is, to date, the best restaurant where I have ever eaten! The owner, Eddy, a Frenchman who has been living in Spain for 20 years, is very friendly and the whole team really takes care of the customers! In conclusion, you can go there with your eyes closed!! Prefer weekdays in order to enjoy the experience in a really optimal way. We had a lot of expectations but, to be honest, it was not a great experience. The best thing about the place is surely the food and the dishes: we found them very rich, prepared with good raw materials and with an acceptable presentation. Pleasant atmosphere with points to improve such as the distribution of tables. Service that is not close to what the prices of the place are. Punctually: a bottle of wine for 26 euros arrives at the open table and the waitress doesn't even let us taste the wine; he simply leaves it on the table and that's it. It is the first time that this has happened to me in 20 years of traveling to Spain. Between the starters and the main courses they almost didn't want to change the cutlery. I had to ask the waitress if she changed them. Without us asking for it, the bill arrived simply because we didn't want coffee or dessert. In short: the place surely has a very good gastronomic offer but it is, from my respectful point of view, very far from what is defined as a place to return to.
